GEOSUM3D is a major partner in the "International Research, Development and Application Alliance" for geological surveying and investigation in three dimensions. This alliance is a network of University based research facilities, as GEOSUM3D and applied user groups, as lithosphere in Germany and the British Geological Survey (BGS). The alliance focuses on the scientific development of holistic methods and strategies for the construction and usage of geological near-surface models as the future form of applied geological information for land sites and urban areas. The established multi-disciplinary surveying methods cover the whole investigation, surveying, modelling and analysis work flow, from digital data capture methodologies in the field to the final ready-to-use integrated 3D subsurface model. This network of research and user groups allows lithosphere and the BGS to provide customers with state-of-the-art and innovative investigation strategies, due to the use of a nationally and internationally accepted methodology, continuously updated by the "International Research, Development, and Application Alliance".
